We woke up at 05:30 to get ourselves ready for our flight. It turned out we already had a 45 minute delay, so weren't in any great rush.
We made our way from the North Terminal hotel to the South Terminal and swiftly got ourselves through airport security and into the departure lounge so we could get some breakfast and also stock up on supplies, reading material, and other things to entertain ourselves for our 9 1/2 hour journey. Eventually the time came to make our way to the gate and board.
The flight consisted of watching a few films and some Canadian documentaries to start getting ourselves acclimatised, some restless sleep, and some reading.
Eventually we arrived at Vancouver Airport, 9 1/2 hours later, but only 30 minutes after the time we'd set off, accounting for the -09:00 Pacific Time Zone. We collected our bags and made our way out of the airport to await a taxi. We ended up sharing one with a woman who was visiting from LA.
We arrived at our hotel, the Westin Bay Shore, and despite being a little jetlagged, dropped off our suitcases and headed back out. We caught another taxi to Granville Island, a market area of Vancouver, to do a bit of shopping and remind ourselves of our last visit. We then caught a water taxi to take us back to the main part of the city and walked along Sunset Beach towards Stanley Park and back to our hotel.
Becky had a 5k run around Stanley Park and spotted some seals bathing in Vancouver Harbour.
Finally, we headed out once more into Vancouver to get some dinner. It was at this point we realised we'd now been awake for over 24 hours and suddenly the tiredness set in, to the point where we were falling asleep while eating. After quickly finishing our meals we hurried back to the hotel to finally settle down for the night.
